Enchanting in Dig lets players boost their shovel’s power by increasing stats, mutation chances, or unlocking special effects. In this ultimate Dig enchantment guide, we discuss how you can enchant shovels, what items you need to enchant, and a full list of enchantments available in the game.
What You Need to Enchant Shovels
To enchant shovels in Dig, players need the Enchantment Tome. There are two ways to obtain the Enchantment Tome:
- Digging up loot with other items
- Buying Tomes from Dark Wizard
First, the Enchantment Tome can be found by digging in the game continuously. Players have approximately a 1/250 chance of digging a tome alongside an item. Magnet Shovel (increases loot dig chances) and Abundant enchant help speed up this process.
Players can also purchase Enchantment Tomes for $15,000 each from the Dark Wizard at the Odd Tower in Rooftop Woodlands (coordinates: 4401, 226, -628). Visit the tree with a wooden door and knock during the Summer season at night only. However, this method requires at least level 30, so it’s not ideal for beginners. Apart from this specific regular weather, players also have a chance of finding special weather and admin events in Dig.
Where to Enchant Shovel in Dig
Players need to visit the Enchantment pedestal in Azure Hollow (coordinates: 4141, -673, 2548).
To locate the enchant area, go to Cinder Cavern and spend $1000 at the elevator. Once on Layer One, go straight into the maze until the blue mushrooms appear beside the road. Following the blue mushrooms will lead to the Azure Hollow. Below is the full Azure Hollow maze video to make things easier to understand.
How to Enchant Shovel in Dig
Unlike Fisch, you are not restricted to a certain time of the day for enchanting shovels. In Dig, you can enchant shovels both during the day and night.
To enchant a shovel in Dig, follow the steps below:
- Players must walk over to the enchant pedestal and have the shovel already equipped.
- Then, open the backpack and search for the Enchantment Tome.
- Click to equip the tome in hand and then hold the E button to enchant the shovel.
An interesting thing about the enchantment process in Dig is that each enchantment performed gives a blessing buff, offering +0.5 Luck for 10 minutes.
