One of the most popular Shonen animanga, My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi, takes place in a world where people get access to special powers called quirks. While some use these for good, others use them to fulfill their selfish desires. The two groups are categorized as heroes and villains. Some character’s quirks are easy to understand, while others have complex abilities. One such character is a young girl named Eri in My Hero Academia, and we discuss her quirks here.

Eri is a little girl who has a tragic past. She was forced to participate in Overhaul’s dangerous experiments. The horrors she had to go through at such a young age can be sensed in her body through all the scars.

She is the granddaughter of a mafia boss, and she was abandoned by her mother when she was a kid. Unaware of the consequences of her quirk, she mistakenly disappeared her father. And that’s why she was taken in custody by the evil villain Overhaul and manipulated to a greater extent.

Overhaul’s experiments traumatized Eri for her entire life. Unable to let go of her past, the little girl lost the ability to scream and cry whenever someone harmed her. Besides that, she started believing that she would only cause harm to others. Hence, she became someone who would happily sacrifice her life for the sake of others.

Eri possesses one of the most dangerous quirks in My Hero Academia called Rewind. She can rewind time for anyone by just touching them. For instance, Eri’s quirk can make elderly people look younger and allow adults to live their childhood once again. She does the same with her father without grasping the hold of her quirk. To be precise, Eri used her quirk for too long and erased her father’s existence accidentally.

She can also heal anyone who has received severe injuries by taking them back in time. Even though it’s not an easy quirk to handle, it made us realize that Eri can change anyone’s future by using her powers.

Eri’s quirk can also be used to cancel out the activation of other quirks. This ability was taken advantage of by Overhaul, and he created a quirk-destruction drug using her blood.

Does Eri’s Quirk Have Any Limitation?

Even the strongest quirk in My Hero Academia has some limitations, and Eri’s quirk is no different. The “Rewind” quirk only works on humans and not on materialistic things. Eraser Head stated that the ones who lose their quirks can get them restored with Eri’s help. However, she cannot use her quirks for non-living things, such as time.

Moreover, you should know that Eri’s horn is the source of her quirk, so once it is damaged, her quirk will also be damaged. During the Final War, it gets damaged when Eri snaps her horn to help Deku. However, the damaged horn had some of the quirk stored in it already, so it could only provide backup to the hero for approximately three minutes and helped heal Izuku’s arms.

So, that’s everything you need about Eri’s quirk in the My Hero Academia series. Do you have any doubts about her abilities? Let us know in the comments below.
