iOS 18 Compatible Devices

Generally, Apple sticks to a five-year window of providing software updates to its iPhones. Every year, Apple drops some older iPhones off its list of compatible devices. Interestingly, this didn’t happen in 2024. As anticipated, the latest iOS 18 supports all the iPhones supported by the existing iOS 17. Therefore, even the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max launched back in 2018 have made it to the iOS 18 compatible devices list.

The following iPhone models will get iOS 18:

  • iPhone SE (2nd & 3rd gen)
  • iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max
  • iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12, 12 mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13, 13 mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14, 14 Plus
  • iPhone 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max
  • iPhone 15, 15 Plus
  • iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max

Apple will ship all the models of the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup with iOS 18 right out of the box.

Right now, iOS 18 is available as Developer Beta, with the Public Beta landing in late June or early July. In September, Apple will roll out the polished version of iOS 18 for public use, along with the iPhone 16 series.
