D.R.E.D. is one of the new rods added with the latest Venue Encore event of Fisch. This rod has a unique cannon design and comes with two new mutation passives, but unlocking it requires you to complete Dr. Anton’s questline in the Underground Music Venue. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock DRED Rod in Fisch.
How to Obtain DRED Rod in Fisch
To unlock the DRED Rod in Fisch, you need to complete Dr. Anton’s questline. You can find him standing in the Underground Music Venue. Talk to him to start his first quest.
DRED Rod Quest 1: Power Source
For this quest, you need to obtain 1 Power Source in Fisch for the scientist. To get the power source, you need to head to Roslit Bay and find Glorp’s shop in Fisch.
This is where you can buy the power source, but you will need the currency, the Glorp Bux, to buy it. It costs 55 GB. To get Glorp Bux, you need to fish for Gleebous mutated fish and sell them to Sophisticated Glorp; in return, he will give you GB depending on the weight and rarity of the fish.
Once you have enough GB, buy the power source and return it to the scientist.
DRED Rod Quest 2: Charging Up
Now he will give you another quest; you will have to catch 115 Electric, Electric Shock, or Electrified fish and 9 Cursed Fish.
- To find Electric, Electric Shock, or Electrified fish, you can fish anywhere with Zeus Thundermaul with the Storming enchantment and pop a Tempest Totem.
- To find Cursed fish, you can fish in a cursed pool. You can increase your odds of catching these fish by using a Cursed Totem.
Once done, head back to Dr. Anton to begin the next quest.
DRED Rod Quest 3: Calibration Specimens
Dr. Anton will now give you another task. This time you will need to catch these fish:

Once you catch all of them, return to Dr. Anton for the next step.
DRED Rod Quest 4: Radio Power
For this step, Dr. Anton will want you to obtain 5 Battery Casings. Follow these steps to farm them:
- Spawn a Fisch boat and head to Sunstone Island.
- Drop into the Chasm and enter the Mineshaft.
- Start fishing.
Since battery casings have a 1% chance, you can boost their odds by using a rod with the Scavenger enchantment along with a magnet or garbage bait. Once you have all the required battery casing, return to Dr. Anton.
DRED Rod Quest 5: Data Retrieval
Your next task is to scan five databanks that are scattered across different islands on the Fisch map before time runs out. A timer starts at the top of your screen, and if you do not scan every databank within 5 minutes, the bombs will detonate, and you will have to do it again.
Start from Moosewood, spawn your boat, and head towards the marked locations one by one. Once you get near the databank, hold E to scan it. Do this five times and return to Dr. Anton to claim your DRED rod.

Fisch DRED Rod Abilities and Passive
The DRED Rod in Fisch has a unique mechanic that adds two fish to your fishing minigame, with one coming from another dimension. Keeping both fish inside the Control Bar boosts your progress and charges the rod’s OVERDRIVE ability.
- 25% chance to apply the Reality-Torn mutation, which gives fish a 9.35x sell multiplier.
- 35% chance to apply the Unstable mutation, which gives fish a 7x sell multiplier.
- +30% Progress Speed.
- 100% chance to duplicate directly caught fish.
- At the start of the minigame, there is a 15% chance for an item from another dimension to fall on the fish and grant bonus progress:
- Tire: +10% Progress.
- Fischpanion Cube: +15% Progress.
- Toxic Waste: +20% Progress.
- Scrap Metal: +25% Progress.
- Fridge: +30% Progress.
- Grand Piano: +50% Progress.
- Keeping both fish inside the control bar gives you 1x progress gain. Keeping only one fish inside reduces the progress gain to 0.4x.
- Every 4 seconds, you get +10% progress and +1 charge, and lock both fish inside the control bar for 0.6 seconds.
- Once you reach 3 charges, the rod activates OVERDRIVE!, consuming all stored charges and giving you +30% Progress while locking both fish for 2.5 seconds.
