How to Start Black Fairy Rod Quest in Fisch
To start the Black Fairy Rod quest, you must travel to the underground music venue in Fisch. Once there, talk to Draven and select: “I’ll help you find it.” This will start the questline that will reward you with the rod.
Fisch Black Fairy Rod Quest 1 Answers and How to Get Them
Once you start the questline, the first one is a total of six riddles. You must solve them and catch or claim what the answer is. Here is the list of all riddles, their answers, and how to get them so you can unlock the Black Fairy Rod in Fisch:
- Where roots dream, steal that never was: Translucent Rotwood Perch.
- Bring forth an ancient covered in moss: Mossy Ancient Wood.
- Find the crystal creature, rotting from within: Rotting Gem Blobfish.
- Two teeth swallowed by the depths that refuse the dark: Shiny Depths Key.
- Retrieve the ocean’s ruined flower of decay: Oceans Ruin Rotbloom.

You can catch the Rotwood Perch in Everturn Forest using Coral bait under any weather or time of day, ideally during the Autumn season. To guarantee the Translucent mutation in Fisch, reel the fish in with a rod enchanted with the Ghastly enchantment (100% chance) or use the Spiritbinder rod (90% chance). You can also roll for it at the Appraiser.
Ancient Wood is fished up around Sunstone Island and has no specific bait, weather, season, or time preferences. Because the Mossy mutation is unappraisable, you must catch it using the Elder Mossripper rod in Fisch, which offers a 15% base chance on normal catches and a 100% chance when its passive ability triggers.
You can catch the Gem Blobfish at Treasure Island in any weather or time of day by placing Crab Cages or fishing with a rod using Golden Shrimp Bait. Since Rotting cannot be obtained through appraisal, you must reel it in directly using the Splitbranch Twig rod, which provides a 35% chance to apply the mutation on catch.
The Depths Key in Fisch can be fished up during the daytime inside Vertigo (specifically at Vertigo’s Dip) or directly from a Strange Whirlpool in the Ocean using Magnet bait. To get the Shiny attribute, you can take a regular Depths Key to the Appraiser at Moosewood during a Shiny Surge event. Otherwise, catch one directly while stacking Shiny odds with the Destiny Rod in Fisch, Blessed/Glittered enchantments, or Rainbow weather.
The Rotbloom is an Exotic fish caught exclusively inside the Rotbloom Hunt pool in the Toxic Grove using Luminous Larva or Thorn Cluster bait during Autumn. To get the Ocean’s Ruin mutation, catch it using the Thalassar’s Ruin rod in Fisch. It grants a 30% chance to apply the mutation through the fishing minigame.
The final riddle answer for the first quest of Black Fairy Rod in Fisch is the Wooden Plank at Castaway Cliffs. To get there, go east of Castaway Cliffs and find a sunken ship. You will identify it by a flag with a fishbone. From there, use the Fisch GPS and follow these coordinates (XYZ): 883.1, 31.8, -1928.2 to find the plank.
