How to Fix Red Tint Issue in Galaxy S8

Even though the Galaxy S8 was an instant hit for Samsung, and a clear indication that the South Korean giant had bounced back spectacularly from the Note 7 debacle last year, there were some (fortunately) minor issues that S8 users were quick to notice. One of the most annoying of these was the red tinted screens on quite a lot of Galaxy S8 phones. Samsung was quick to issue a fix for these devices, and with that, users could easily fix the red tint issue on their smartphones. So, here is how to fix the red tint issue in Galaxy S8:

NoteThe update depends on your carrier. And if you haven’t received the update from your carrier yet, this method will not work for you. However, rest assured that you’ll get the update soon.

Fix the Galaxy S8 Screen’s Red Tint

1. If you have received the update, just head on to “Settings -> Display -> Screen Mode“.

2. Here, scroll down, and you should see an option that says “Full Screen Colour Balance“, along with a slider that goes from “Cool” to “Warm”. Since the device’s screen has a red tint to it, you’ll have to slide the slider towards “Cool”, in order to fix it.

3. If that doesn’t get you to the perfect hue for your smartphone’s display, you can tap on “Advanced Options” to get RGB sliders that you can manipulate to get the perfect hue on your smartphone.

4. Once you’re done with that, you should lay your phone on it’s face, and look at the edges of the screen. If you see abnormal colours over there, just scroll down further, and you’ll see “Screen edge colour balance“. Tap on it, and you can use the slider to make the edges cooler or warmer.

NoteThe “Screen edge colour balance” setting is only visible if the “Advanced Options” radio button is checked.

That’s it, you should’ve fixed any issues with colour tints on the Galaxy S8’s Infinity Display with these steps. Do note that if you use the “Advanced Options” to fine tune the hue of your display, you’ll have to keep it enabled, or the changes will get disabled until you enable “Advanced Options” again.
