This Handy Extension Helps Find Your X (Twitter) Followers on Bluesky

In Short
  • Sky Follower Bridge can easily let you find your X followers on Bluesky.
  • It searches for followers based on their Profile name or Handle name and lets you follow them right from X.
  • The extension is available on both Firefox and Chromium-based browsers for free.

Bluesky is a new and emerging social media platform and an X (Twitter) alternative that looks a lot like old Twitter. The platform has a total of 14.5 million users and it’s growing. While Bluesky is nice, new users might be hard-pressed to find their X followers, and their feeds may be all over the place. However, there’s now a browser extension that lets you find your X followers on Bluesky, and here’s how you can use it effectively.

The extension is Sky Follower Bridge and it’s available on Chrome and Firefox. It requires you to enter your Bluesky credentials to start the migration process. While some users may hesitate to try it out, it’s open-source and does not store or sell your data.

Find X Followers on BlueSky

As mentioned earlier, you need to sign in with your Bluesky credentials and go to either the Following, Followers, or Blocked users pages on your X profile for the extension to work. Here’s how it works:

  1. Install the Sky Follower Bridge extension on Chrome or Firefox.

The extension will scan the list of people you’re following on X and try to find them on Bluesky via Display or Handle names. If either matches, their Bluesky profile with display and handle names will appear below their X profile alongside a Follow button. Click it and you’ll instantly start following them on Bluesky. Profiles with no matching display or handle names will get a “No similar users found” sign.

If the extension is returning an error, it could be due to the Bluesky API limiting requests. You could wait and try after a couple of minutes and it should work. I spent 30 minutes using the extension and had zero issues. All my followers immediately reflected on Bluesky.

My Experience Using the Extension

That said, I didn’t have a hard time because I don’t have many followers (sad noises) but I do follow 600 people out of which I was able to follow a few accounts. However, if you have too many followers, you need to manually follow each account as the one-click solution to follow all accounts is unavailable at the moment.

I also noticed that some accounts the extension suggested were not correct. While they did have the same handle or display name, for example, @madebygoogle.bsky.social and @madebygoogle on X, the handle on Bluesky isn’t genuine.
