Doom The Dark Ages Chapter 10 begins with the word ‘HELL’ laid out in a bold typeface, letting players know exactly what’s in store. What follows is one of the most memorable visits to the netherrealm in the series as the Slayer embarks on a one-man rampage to hunt down Prince Ahzrak. Like every chapter in the game, Forsaken Plains is filled with hidden locations that players will need to discover to attain 100% completion. With this in mind, we’ve put together a guide on all secret areas in Doom The Dark Ages Chapter 10.
Doom The Dark Ages Chapter 10 Secret Areas
There are a total of 10 secret areas in Doom The Dark Ages Chapter 10. Discovering these locations will earn you a Collectible Toy and Rubies, among other rewards. Check out all the secret locations below:
Secret Area 1
After landing in Hell, follow the main objective until you arrive at the front gates. From here, look left and you’ll find climbable rocks with a green skeleton on the bigger rock formation in front. Throw your shield at the skeleton and then jump onto it. Now, look directly in front to find another scalable rock. Jump to it with a running start to discover the first hidden location.
Secret Area 2
After advancing through the front gate, you’ll be met with three branching paths. Head straight and past the wreckage of the Atlan mech and look left to find a flight of stairs. Climb it and turn left again, and you can spot a metal gate requiring a Secret Key. To grab the key, be sure to check out our comprehensive guide. Secret Area 3
A couple of secrets are nearby, starting with another gate that requires the secret key. To get here, retrace your steps back to the front entrance and turn left on this occasion. You’ll find yourself on an elevated cliff, so watch for a lower level on the left. Jump down as soon as you spot it, and push towards the gate. This one has a Gore Nest challenge inside, with a Ruby Statue sitting outside.
Secret Area 4
Look directly right from the gate, and you’ll spot a trail of armor pickups. Follow it and look below to find a jump pad. This will hurl you towards the cliff, sitting at a distance. Once you’re there, collect the Cyberdemon Collectible Toy.
Secret Area 5
Once you’re back in front of the gate, head back towards the cliff you jumped off, and then head straight to push deeper into this area. After a short jog, you’ll find a flight of stairs leading to a metal gate. This is also where you’ll find the secret key for this level.
Look to the left of this gate, and in the direction seen in the image above. Throw your shield towards the jump point to access the higher level. Walk through the tiny corridor and look for a doorway on the left. Peek out this doorway and you’ll spot a red counterweight, break it using your shield. Now, continue heading down this corridor and a demon will soon ambush you.
Defeat it and move towards the trail of armor pickups on its right. There will be a scalable wall that will lead you to the secret area.
Secret Area 6
The fifth hidden location is close to the Sentinel Shrine found in this corner of the level. Follow our map to get there, and once you do, look just past the Shinre and you’ll spot a path leading under it. Follow it to the end to tick this secret off the checklist.
Secret Area 7
There’s another secret close to a Sentinel Shrine, but this one’s on the opposite end of the map. So, run back to the front gate, and take the path leading right on this occasion. After climbing the platform at its entrance, turn right to reach the Shrine. You’ll spot fire traps and an elevator that moves up and down rhythmically inside the hall. Stand on it, and it’ll carry you to the upper level, which features a Ruby Statue.
Secret Area 8
This one’s fairly easy to discover. Just navigate to the location on the map above and look for the green skeleton.
Secret Area 9
After grabbing the Life Sigil, keep pushing towards the Hell Cannon in this area. You’ll have to defeat a Cyberdemon Leader to destroy the cannon. Once that’s done, jump down from the platform and move towards the path on the right, leading away from the stairs in the center. You’ll soon find another locked gate. Unlock it using the key to discover the penultimate secret area.
Secret Area 10
The final secret area requires you to destroy the second Hell Cannon on the map. So, follow the main objective, defeat the Mancubus Leader, and destroy the cannon. After completing all three steps, use our map to navigate to the last secret key gate in the area. This one houses another Gore Nest for you to obliterate.
