Recently, Charlie Cox had an interview with The Playlist where he was asked several questions about Daredevil: Born Again and how he feels about the show and its future. His response was mostly positive, but he did open up about how he was not content with one of the episodes and pushed for it not to be included in the show. Charlie said that he did not like episode 5 titled “With Interest” in Daredevil: Born Again, and even pushed for it not to be included in the show.

In this episode, we see Daredevil prevent a bank robbery, Yusuf Khan, the father of Kamala Khan appears, and Ms. Marvel is name-dropped in this one.

“I will say this amongst all of this, there was one episode we didn’t change at all. It’s the episode in the bank, and that was part of the original. We shot that before the strike. That was part of the original, and just for my money, I wasn’t into it. I didn’t like it. It was my least favorite of the episodes, and I kind of pushed back against it as much as I felt was possible.” – Charlie Cox

This revelation might come as a shock to fans since this episode is one of the highest-rated episodes of Daredevil: Born Again.

Now, this comment from Cox was not without reason, as he provided his reasons for pushing against this episode.

“I don’t believe in a bank heist in 2025. That feels like a 1970s game. Too much technology these days for that to work. And also, I didn’t think the actual device used for the theft was sophisticated enough.” – Charlie Cox

This comment from the beloved actor came with reactions from all over the internet, where fans are taken aback that he did not want to work on this episode. X user HiTopAlex commented “No way this is real, (I’m in disbelief), but if it is, holy damn, Charlie you the king.” while on the other hand, some fans agreed with Cox. X user Ernto said, “Yeah a limited series with 9 episodes can’t really afford to have a filler episode like something with like 22”.

In my opinion, Charlie Cox is right to push against this episode. The reason is not that it was bad, but rather unnecessary. In my opinion, when you have a show with just nine episodes, a filler wastes time. The episode could have been used to explore more aspects of characters and stories. The episode was enjoyable, but considering the shortage of episodes, unnecessary. So, that is what I think of this, and do let us know your opinions in the comment section.
