14. Deep Blue Sea (2012)

Cast- Tom Hiddleston, Rachel Weisz, Ann Mitchell, Simon Russel Beale, Harry Hadden-patton
Release Date- 23 March 2012
IMDB/ Rotten Tomatoes- 6.2/ 80%

Deep Blue Sea is one of those movies which fit into the stereotypical image of British cinema. It’s slow, overly dramatic, and lacks a lot of things when it comes to storytelling. This movie revolves around a young woman who is the wife of an old British judge. She does not feel fulfilled in her marriage and gets entangled in a passionate affair with a former Royal Air Force pilot named Freddie Page (Hiddleston).

I won’t say it’s a bad movie because really it’s not, but you can’t call it a good one either. It sort of hangs in the middle of both spectrums, so if you wish to watch it, go ahead!

If you are looking for a mind-boggling work of fiction, you should check out this Tom Hiddleston movie. This movie is based on a novel of the same name written by J. G. Ballard and follows a dystopian-like setting. This film revolves around the central character of Dr. Robert Laing, played by Hiddleston, who had just moved into a high-rise building which he discovers is divided into class distinction.

The upper floors are made specifically for the richer and upper-class people while the lower floors are meant for, well, lower-class people, and soon, this division takes a pretty dark turn. This movie is one of those that you may or may not like but if you’re up for it, do give it a chance!

Midnight in Paris is more like a feather in Tom Hiddleston’s hat, according to Hiddleston himself. This movie is a “dream movie” for him. Even though he was not the lead actor in Midnight in Paris, his portrayal of F. Scott Fitzgerald left a remarkable mark on the audience.

Midnight in Paris revolves around a successful screenwriter who is trying to work on his new novel but is struggling to write a compelling work of literature. He, along with his fiancée’s family, goes on a tag-along trip to Paris and falls in love with the city.

One night he goes on a walk in the streets of Paris but an old car stops and the passengers invite him to go to a party. Even though this movie didn’t have Tom in the lead role, his performance won the hearts of everyone who witnessed his role, generating a fandom around Loki almost immediately.

I’m pretty sure that most of you have already watched this movie but if you haven’t, it really is worth your time, so, do watch it!

In this film, we see Loki repent him causing the death of his mother and fight alongside Thor against Malekith. We also see Loki die in the movie but it was just a projection created by him to help his brother and cheat death as well.. This movie shows us a version of Loki who can be good, a hero, and seeing that transition where he can possibly redeem himself was quite admirable.

7. War Horse (2011)

This horse is later bought by the United States Army and eventually is ridden by Captain James Nicholls (Hiddleston) who makes a promise to Albert to keep his horse safe. This movie was the last one where we saw Tom Hiddleston as Loki in a lead role because, in Avengers Infinity War, Loki is sadly killed by Thanos. This is the movie where Loki actually redeems himself and stands for his brother and Asgard along with other heroes. This movie might be the first instance where we see Loki fight alongside his brother Thor in the flesh instead of some illusion he created. This movie is visually stunning and very well-made and is possibly the best Thor movie to date.

We see Loki die in Infinity War but his story didn’t end there. After the Avengers go back in time to gather the infinity stones, one of the Loki variants from the year 2012 escapes but is captured by the TVA in the Loki series, bringing the character back to life in a standalone series.

1. I Saw The Light (2015)

Cast- Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen, Maddie Hasson, Wrenn Schmidt, James DuMont
Release Date- 1 April, 2016
IMDB/ Rotten Tomatoes- 5.8/ 19%

I Saw the Light is easily one of the finest movies starring Tom Hiddleston. This movie is a tribute to the legendary country musician, Hank Williams and his short-lived life of 29 years. He was an extremely talented musician who gave the world some unforgettable songs but even though he was extremely talented, he succumbed to alcohol abuse, infidelity, and drug abuse causing his death from a heart attack in 1953.

Hiddleston plays the role of Hank Williams and has beautifully delved himself into the character. From the way he carries himself to the southern accent to learning music from scratch, Tom Hiddleston cracked this role and I would like to recommend this movie as a must-watch to all of you, trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Overall, Hiddleston has proved himself to be an extremely versatile actor who can mold himself into absolutely any role presented to him. From serious characters to funny, to romantic he has proven himself to be able to tackle anything thrown at him and as movie enthusiasts, we truly respect that.
