When it comes to shooting videos, iPhones are the gold standard. The iPhone 11 and the Pro models come with OIS which helps in shooting stable videos. However, if you are traveling on a bumpy road or trekking on a mountain, the phone’s OIS won’t be enough. In such cases, you need to use a gimbal to get good footage. Gimbals also let you create cinematic videos or do vlogging in a super steady mode. Good gimbals also pack extra features such as face tracking, three-axis stabilization, and more. That’s why, we have put together a list of 8 best gimbals for iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max in this article.
Best Gimbals for iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max (Updated August 2020)
Here, we have selected the 8 best gimbals for iPhone 11 and the Pro models. The mentioned gimbals have dedicated apps for iPhone so you can control the gimbal effortlessly right from your mobile. Also, we have kept affordability in mind before finalizing the list.
List of Stabilizers for iPhone 11 Series
1. DJI OSMO Mobile 3
DJI is a big name in aerial photography thanks to its good lineup of drones. However, not many users know that the company also offers super steady gimbals for iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. Similar to Zhiyun, the DJI OSMO Mobile 3 comes with a 3-axis gimbal stabilizer which is known for its extremely stable electronic motors. It’s also very lightweight and comfortable to use in comparison to Zhiyun.
The best part about DJI OSMO Mobile 3 is that it supports hand gestures which makes it easy to snap photos and videos. Not to mention, it comes with object tracking and hyper-lapse feature as well. While the debate between Zhiyun and DJI has always been there, I would say if you want an easy-to-use gimbal, go with DJI OSMO Mobile 3.

2. Zhiyun Smooth 4
Zhiyun is one of the leading manufacturers of smartphone and DSLR gimbals and their Smooth 4 is a testimony to that fact. It offers 3-axis handheld gimbal which is capable of stabilizing even the shakiest of movements. While iPhones are already great at taking stable footage, the Zhiyun Smooth 4 takes it to a whole new level. The Smooth 4 can be particularly helpful while vlogging, trekking, or shooting cinematic videos.
Note: This gimbal is only compatible with the iPhone 11 Pro. It can’t counter the weight of both iPhone 11 Pro Max and the standard iPhone 11.
It is also equipped with the popular object tracking feature and time-lapse mode. Other than that, Zhiyun has a dedicated mobile app which is plenty good for shooting various styles of videos. And that is not all, it seamlessly integrates with the Filmic Pro app ($14.99) on iPhones and that is absolutely great. So, if you want the best gimbal for iPhone 11 Pro, just get the Zhiyun Smooth 4 and be done with it.

3. Hohem iSteady
If you are looking for an affordable gimbal for iPhone 11, 11 Pro or 11 Pro Max then Hohem offers one of the best gimbals at a cheaper price. Just like Zhiyun and DJI, Hohem comes with a 3-axis stabilizer which works absolutely great. In fact, due to its relatively small size, this gimbal is a perfect pick for vloggers and budding YouTubers. Apart from that, what I love about Hohem is that it has a bunch of modes including sports, nature, landscape, etc. for effortless video shooting.
Note: You will have to manually balance the gimbal for iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Further, it comes with 360-degree panorama, timelapse, slow motion control, object tracking, and more. Basically, you are getting a whole lot of exciting features without splurging much. So go ahead and get the Hohem gimbal for your iPhone 11 or the Pro models. You won’t regret it, for sure.

If you want a compact gimbal that can fit in your pocket then Feiyu is the perfect pick for you. It’s super light, portable and a breeze to use. Feiyu is specially designed for travelers and vloggers who want to carry gimbal without any extra weight. Talking about the stabilization, Feiyu gimbal comes with 3-axis motorized stabilizer which is pretty good and makes the footage super steady.
There are a couple of dedicated buttons on the gimbal which makes video shooting really convenient. Further, you can create cinematic videos using its flip orientation feature, AI face detection, object tracking and more. As I said above, go for Feiyu if you want a small gimbal that can accompany your iPhone while shooting videos. That said, keep in mind, some users have reported concern for the iPhone 11 Pro Max as it can’t handle a big size phone.

5. Moza Mini S
Moza Mini S is another great gimbal you can consider for iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. It’s quite advanced and brings a lot of new techniques to offset jerky movements while shooting videos. Moza uses something called magnetic brushless motor which mitigates the shakes more effectively than an electronic motor. In addition, it’s also quite thin and lightweight in comparison to the likes of Zhiyun and DJI.
Apart from that, you also get AI-based object tracking, shooting modes like vertigo, hyper-lapse and slow-motion. Having said that, bear in mind, for the iPhone 11 particularly, you can’t use the wide-angle lens with the gimbal fitted to the phone. But apart from that, Moza Mini S is a solid gimbal with all the major features. It can be a great pair to your iPhone and you can definitely give it a try.

Aoni is one of the affordable gimbals available for iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. It offers 3-axis stabilization which is frankly quite good for the price. It has multiple shooting modes for creating cinematic looking videos. For example, you have Pan Following mode which lets you take some stunning landscape shots, Following mode for tracking someone’s movement and Locking mode for locking the focus on an object or face.
Apart from that, the best part about this gimbal is that it comes with a 4000 mAh battery which can help you charge your iPhone as well. Further, you can control the gimbal from your device which makes for a convenient video shooting. To sum up, if you are on a budget, just pick Aoni gimbal and you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve owned the Smooth4 for my prior phone, an iPhone 7. Since upgrading to the iPhone 11 Pro Max, I will say the Smooth 4 struggles with the extra size and weight. Sometimes it can hold steady, but then it just gives up often and falls limp. There is an easy solution though. You can purchase tiny kits that add an adjustable counter balancing weight to the other side of the arm. It’s about $10-15 on amazon for those kits. Problem solved and it works just fine. I bought this kit as well as an adapter plate that lets me move a GoPro further out to the side because the wide angle lens of a GoPro often sees the joint of the gimbal in the shot without it.
My question is .Will the Apple iphone 11 pro max be suitable with the ZHIYUN Smooth 4 latest edition .
Such a simple question . Why can no one answer this !!!
Huh, most of those gimble don’t have enough payload to handle iPhone 11 Pro Max?!? Researched much?
I came here to look for the best gimbal for my pro max, I bought an Aoni and it kept flopping over. Which do u recommend?
This article is misleading.
The DJI OSMO is *not* compatible with the iPhone 11. The manufacturer has even said so!
Past that, a simple look at the Amazon reviews shows a lot of unhappy 11 and 11 Pro users who have rated it poorly.
You need to research before you write misleading information.
