We will also update the list as new Anime Expeditions patch notes arrive, so bookmark this page.
Anime Expeditions Secret Units
| Unit | Passive |
|---|---|
![]() Shadow (Divine) | Has the Shadow Realm and Divine Spirit ability. Shadow Realm transforms the map and applies a 25% damage buff to all magical units. Divine Spirit can stun this unit, but it will summon a minion that doesn’t despawn and deals the same damage. The Winged Spirit ability can help summon winged minions that deal decent damage every 5 seconds. |
![]() 8th Sword (Berserker) | Enemies within range will take 5% of this unit’s current damage every 1 second. When this unit is stunned, it does a follow-up attack. After 25 takedowns, it enters Berserk mode, increasing damage, SPA, and range. |
The Secret units in Anime Expeditions are some of the rarest characters and sit at the top of the game’s meta. Unlocking them can take you hours of grinding, as all are only obtained through evolution in Anime Expeditions. These units can provide incredible damage, utility, and unique mechanics.
Both the Secret units are considered some of the strongest, with Shadow regarded as one of the best in crowd control situations and dealing a ton of damage. Whereas the 8th Sword offers some of the highest DPS among other units in the game for the late-game grind.
Since these are some of the rarest units you can get from the banner, you will surely need a ton of gems, and these can be obtained for free from the active Anime Expeditions codes.
Anime Expeditions Exclusive Units
| Unit | Passive |
|---|---|
![]() Crimson (Brother) | Regular enemies mark them with a crimson mark that will make them explode after 5 seconds. The explosion leaves a crimson pool on the ground that deals additional damage as well. Also has the ability to do piercing crimson attacks |
![]() Toy Maker | Summons toys on the paths that can deal damage, gain speed, deal AoE attacks, and more. |
![]() True Saint (Holy) | Inflicts enemies with the True Saint Mark that can deal 10% damage to marked enemies. |
Exclusive units are obtained through the special events in Anime Expeditions. You can get them as Battle Pass rewards, tournaments, or limited-time activities. These units are harder to collect than the standard banner characters.
The Toy Maker stands out in this category thanks to its unique summon-based gameplay of creating toys to block and deal damage. While the Crimson character is a great DPS unit, the True Saint is a more beginner-friendly character. Combined with the right equipment in Anime Expeditions, you can destroy any gamemode.
Anime Expeditions Mythic Units
| Unit | Passive |
|---|---|
![]() Cursed Student (True Love) | On every 3 Regular attacks, it does a follow-up attack dealing more damage. Every 20 total stacks of bleed, it summons a bat spirit that can deal decent damage. |
![]() Elf Mage (Unleashed) | Gains 1 arcane charge and keeps charging on regular attacks. Once the threshold is reached, charges reset and increase the arcane spells’ damage. These are follow-up attacks that deal additional damage. |
![]() Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) | Can apply a burn to enemies in range that can spread to the 3 nearest enemies. Can summon a wall of fire that deals damage to those who pass through. |
![]() Hollow (Blaze) | If an enemy with a burn stops within its range, it can deal more damage and induce flames. Attacking enemies with a burn can also deal more damage. |
![]() Lady Giant (Envy) | Regular attacks make it gain Rock chunks. With 4 such items, it can do a follow-up attack dealing 100-125% damage. It can transform into a giant and increase its damage output, SPA, and range. |
![]() Puppet (Telekinetic) | Inflicts the puppet mark on the strongest enemy within range. It can also summon a doll to deal more damage relative to its health. |
![]() Reaper (Released) | This unit gains permanent buffs like more damage and critical chance after attacking enemies. Can decrease the SPA by 5% for 20s. Can activate the Mirage step to relocate anywhere. |
![]() Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1) | Applies the slow effect on current attacks. When enemies come within its range, it performs a stagger attack. |
![]() String Demon (Awakened) | Every 6 regular attacks, it stuns the enemies by making a cocoon. When it breaks, it does 100% of the original damage. The string attacks also do a follow-up attack |
The Mythic units are the backbone of most end-game teams. Most of the units in this category have powerful passives, elemental effects, or utility skills that make them viable throughout the game. The Cursed Student is one of the best DPS units thanks to its attack-copying passive and Bleed synergy.
The Elf Mage can consistently unleash AoE damage and remains one of the strongest units, making progression easier. The Lady Giant offers massive raw damage output along with a transformation mechanic. While the Sarmon Srocerer is one of the best for crowd control, the String Demon and Reaper also deliver decent damage. You can always make these units work with the strong Anime Expeditions traits.
