Anime Expeditions features a massive roster of units inspired by many popular anime series. Whether it is One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, Dr Stone, or Naruto, the game has them all. These units range from easy-to-obtain Rare characters to incredibly powerful Secret-tier fighters as well.

Moreover, since each unit has its own unique passive ability, it is crucial to learn about them before building your team based on a certain playstyle. Hidden Potential: On Upgrade 3, transforms into Prodigy Transformation. Every 3 Regular Attacks deals 50% of this unit’s damage to all enemies within its range. On Upgrade 5, unlocks Rage Unleashed.
Unyielding Spirit: Regular attacks against enemies with a Status Effect deal 10% increased damage per stack of each Status Effect, up to 100 stacks. For DOT effects, refreshes the duration and changes the source to this unit, triggering only once per DOT type per enemy.

Crow’s Illusion: Regular attacks apply Illusion to enemies for 12 seconds.
Broken Mind: Enemies in the Illusion state store all damage taken from this unit, then release 25% of the stored damage as a small 2 range AoE when Illusion expires.
Searing Flames: Every tick of Black Fire damage grants a shield, while enemies with shields inside this unit’s range gain a stack of Black Fire.

Shadow (Divine)
Has the Shadow Realm and Divine Spirit ability.
Shadow Realm transforms the map and applies a 25% damage buff to all magical units.
Divine Spirit can stun this unit, but it will summon a minion that doesn’t despawn and deals the same damage.
The Winged Spirit ability can help summon winged minions that deal decent damage every 5 seconds.

8th Sword (Berserker)
Enemies within range will take 5% of this unit’s current damage every 1 second.
When this unit is stunned, it does a follow-up attack.
After 25 takedowns, it enters Berserk mode, increasing damage, SPA, and range.

The Secret units in Anime Expeditions are some of the rarest characters and sit at the top of the game’s meta. Unlocking them can take you hours of grinding, as all are only obtained through evolution in Anime Expeditions. These units can provide incredible damage, utility, and unique mechanics.

Both the Secret units are considered some of the strongest, with Shadow regarded as one of the best in crowd control situations and dealing a ton of damage. Whereas the 8th Sword offers some of the highest DPS among other units in the game for the late-game grind.

Since these are some of the rarest units you can get from the banner, you will surely need a ton of gems, and these can be obtained for free from the active Anime Expeditions codes.

Exclusive units are obtained through the special events in Anime Expeditions. You can get them as Battle Pass rewards, tournaments, or limited-time activities. These units are harder to collect than the standard banner characters.

The Toy Maker stands out in this category thanks to its unique summon-based gameplay of creating toys to block and deal damage. While the Crimson character is a great DPS unit, the True Saint is a more beginner-friendly character. Combined with the right equipment in Anime Expeditions, you can destroy any gamemode.

Passive Absorption: After scoring 50 takedowns in Imperfect form, spawns Mecha 17 as an enemy Boss with 10,000 Health. Defeating Mecha 17 transforms this unit into Semiperfect form. After scoring 50 takedowns in Semiperfect form, spawns Mecha 18 as an enemy Boss with 20,000 Health. Defeating Mecha 18 transforms this unit into Perfect form.
Genetic Code: In Imperfect form, copies 50% of the strongest unit’s base Damage in range and increases the strongest unit’s Damage by 10%. In Semiperfect form, gains Bio Gel on attack and unlocks Genetic Duplication. Bio Gel slows enemies by 60% for 5 seconds and stuns them for 3 seconds when it expires. In Perfect form, unlocks Bio Reset. Each takedown of an enemy inflicted with Bio Gel increases this unit’s Range by 0.2%, up to 30%, and its AoE size by 0.4%, up to 20%.

Carrot (Unleashed)
Battle Instinct: Every 4 non Critical Attacks, the next Regular Attack is guaranteed to be a Critical Attack.
Limitless Warrior: Starts with 0 Fighting Spirit. Critical Attacks increase Fighting Spirit by 10, while being defeated increases it by 20. At 30 Fighting Spirit, transforms into Carrot Transformation, applying Stagger to all enemies in range, becoming immune to Status Effects, increasing Damage by 15% and Crit Damage by 20%. Fighting Spirit decreases by 1 every second, and the unit transforms back into its base form when Fighting Spirit reaches 0.
Instant Relocation: Select a unit on the map or a position within this unit’s range to Relocate to for 15 seconds. Relocating to a unit triggers a Follow Up Attack dealing 75% of this unit’s current damage, then causes the selected unit to perform the same attack for 75% of its current damage. Relocating to a position triggers a Follow Up Attack dealing 75% of this unit’s current damage and increases this unit’s Damage by 50% for 15 seconds.

Precision Slash: Every 6 Regular Attacks, inflicts The Drink Mark on enemies for 15 seconds, increasing Follow Up Attack damage by 10% and applying 10% Physical Weakness.
Quick Assist: When a Follow Up Attack happens within this unit’s range, performs a Follow Up Attack at 150% of its current Damage and applies Precision Slash.
Perfected Strikes: When applying The Drink Mark during The Drink Transformation, all Follow Up Attacks from this unit critically strike and deal 15% increased critical damage.
Golden Ascension: Transforms into The Drink Transformation for 60 seconds, reducing Precision Slash attacks required by 1, increasing Follow Up Attack damage by 15%, reducing SPA by 10%, and increasing Range by 10%.

Prince’s Pursuit: Enemies that leave this unit’s range take 10% of its current Damage.
Royal Rivalry: Every Regular Attack from another unit in this unit’s range increases this unit’s Damage by 5%, up to 25%. Every Critical Attack from another unit increases this unit’s Critical Chance by 5%, up to 25%. Every Follow Up Attack from another unit increases this unit’s Critical Damage by 5%, up to 15%.
Awakened Pride: Starts with 100 Patience. Each takedown within this unit’s range decreases Patience by 5. If another unit transforms within this unit’s range, instantly empties Patience and increases the transformed unit’s Damage by 15%. When Patience is emptied, transforms this unit into Vegetale Transformation, increasing Damage by 15%, Critical Damage by 35%, and Critical Chance by 20%.

Every 20 total stacks of bleed, it summons a bat spirit that can deal decent damage.

Gains 1 arcane charge and keeps charging on regular attacks.
Once the threshold is reached, charges reset and increase the arcane spells’ damage.
These are follow-up attacks that deal additional damage.

Can apply a burn to enemies in range that can spread to the 3 nearest enemies.
Can summon a wall of fire that deals damage to those who pass through.

The Mythic units are the backbone of most end-game teams. Most of the units in this category have powerful passives, elemental effects, or utility skills that make them viable throughout the game. The Cursed Student is one of the best DPS units thanks to its attack-copying passive and Bleed synergy.

The Elf Mage can consistently unleash AoE damage and remains one of the strongest units, making progression easier. The Lady Giant offers massive raw damage output along with a transformation mechanic. While the Sarmon Sorcerer is one of the best for crowd control, the String Demon and Reaper also deliver decent damage. You can always make these units work with the strong Anime Expeditions traits.

All units in the legendary rarity introduce you to the support characters that remain useful even in the later stages of the game. At a mid-end game stage, you can combine some legendary and mythic units to make your ultimate team.

Among the above characters, you can use The Hero as it is one of the best support units in Anime Expeditions. Its physical damage buff scales throughout the match, making it a great choice for use alongside DPS characters. The Forbidden Teacher is another highly valued character for its ability to buff magical units. You can also consider using the Ramen Guy for farming money during the waves.

The epic units in Anime Expeditions are commonly used during the early game and can help in clearing the story content before moving on to stronger rarities.

Most of these epic units will eventually be replaced by Mythic and Legendary units, but until then, make use of the Ice Mage to the fullest. The Ice Mage remains useful for its crowd-control capabilities, so it becomes a comfortable unit till you get the stronger characters from the banner.

All the rare units in Anime Expeditions are primarily intended for the starter players. Since they can clear the early game stages of the main storyline, you can use them to climb the ranks, gain some money, and summon higher-tier units of the Epic and Legendary rarity.

Among the above units, the Thunder Shinobi and Reishi Archer generally perform better in the early game. With higher and more reliable damage output, you can consider keeping them in your team for some beginner-stage story mission maps in Anime Expeditions.
