We are still over a month away from the year;s biggest gaming extravaganza E3, but Microsoft today in an official blog post teased what it has in store for fans and industry watchers. Microsoft said we are likely to see new games and enhanced fan experiences.
Microsoft’s Xbox Head Phil Spencer in a tweet has already confirmed that they’ll showcase games from its Japanese publishers, just like last year. Now, Microsoft’s Gaming CMO Mike Nichols says that it will be “biggest E3” for them this year in the blog post.
While the previous year was particularly exciting due to the launch of Xbox One X (Project Scorpio), we have no clue what Microsoft has planned for us this time around. Rumors suggest that the company could unveil Halo 6 and Crackdown 3 at the event. Here’s the official statement from the Xbox blog:
We’re hard at work on exciting plans for E3, from what will be a great briefing filled with new games to the fan experience at the Microsoft Theater. This is our biggest E3 yet, and we look forward to a great week for gamers.
And that’s about it. Rest of the blog post talks about record-setting milestones Microsoft Xbox has achieved since the start of the year. The number of Xbox players has grown by 13 percent and sales are up 13 percent as compared to last year, which is down to success of titles such as Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
We also reached a couple milestones recently with players having enjoyed over 4 billion hours on games released through our ID@Xbox program and nearly 1 billion hours on games in our Xbox One Backward Compatibility library.
Microsoft has scheduled its E3 2018 briefing for Sunday, June 11 at 1:00 pm PST (1:30 am IST) at the Microsoft Theatre.
