Now, a new countdown timer has been added to Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, leaving players confused as to what it is counting down to. What is the Countdown on Fortnite For?

The countdown timer in the lobby is for the Fortnite Shattered live event, which is set to go down on June 5, 2026, at 7 PM ET. The recent Fortnite Dark Voyager Story Moment was the last live event for the current season, and Epic is now preparing everyone for the epic Shattered live event finale in Chapter 7 Season 2.

The live event will feature the Ice King and the Foundation going to full-scale war, with the Ice King even potentially breaking the Chapter 7 Season 2 island into pieces. The game is expected to go into downtime immediately after the Fortnite Shattered live event, so the countdown timer is also counting down till the downtime for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3.

Once the countdown timer has around 40 minutes left on it, players will be able to join the playlist for the Fortnite Shattered live event. The event will also feature free rewards themed around the Dark Voyager that players can claim by simply joining the event.
