Fortnite’s 9th birthday is here, and to mark the occasion, Epic Games has once more unvaulted the iconic Birthday Presents (item). They are part of the Fortnite Birthday 2026 Quests, which can be completed to get freebies. That said, here’s where to find Birthday Presents in Fortnite.
How to Find Birthday Presents in Fortnite (2026)
Birthday Presents are back in Fortnite as Legendary-tier loot to celebrate the game’s ninth anniversary. Much like last year, they can only be found in Fortnite OG. They do not spawn in Fortnite Zero Build and Battle Royale.
They can also be found in and around Named Locations in chests or as floor loot. We recommend searching for Birthday Presents at the Junk Junction POI on the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 map. We were able to find Birthday Presents and Birthday Cake in this location. The latter is a guaranteed spawn in every match.
As previously mentioned, aside from Birthday Presents, Epic Games also unvaulted the Birthday Cake, which can be consumed to restore health and shields. Balloons have been added back to the Fortnite Loot Pool for the occasion as well, which can be found in chests and floor loot.
How to Use Birthday Presents in Fortnite
Similar to items such as Port-A-Cover in Fortnite, to use a Birthday Present, you need to first equip it from your inventory. Use your “ADS” button (right-click) to aim where the Birthday Present is to be placed. An outline appears, allowing you to see exactly where you’re placing it.
Once you’re happy with the placement, use your “Fire” button (left-click) to toss the Birthday Present and have it appear in front of you. Use your pickaxe to break open the Birthday Presents in Fortnite to find valuable loot inside them. Items/weapons found inside are of Epic/Legendary tier.
If you want to save time, you can even deploy the Birthday Present in Fortnite directly under your feet. This allows you to end up inside it, letting you claim the loot quicker. That said, how you want to approach opening Birthday Presents in Fortnite is entirely up to you.
Keep in mind that you need to use Birthday Presents as part of Birthday quests in Fortnite. You have until September 30, 2026, to complete all of them to earn freebies. Each quest also rewards XP, which helps you level up and redeem all Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass rewards.
