Venom 3 has confirmed that Knull is going to make his first cinematic debut with Venom 3. As exciting as this revelation is there is still a lot of discussion regarding the actor who will be playing the titular villain in the movie. Venom: The Last Dance will be the last movie in the standalone Venom franchise but we are certainly going to see more of Venom in some other Marvel projects. However, even though we are excited to see Eddie Brock and his Symbiote on screen once again, let’s talk about what’s in the air regarding who is playing Knull in Venom 3.
Norman Reedus Is Rumored to Be Venom 3 Knull Actor
After the trailer for Venom 3 was released, and confirmed the appearance of Knull in the movie, the internet was taken by storm regarding who will be playing this monstrosity of a villain. A couple of days back, a rumor started floating on X (Twitter) stating that Normal Reedus would appear in the movie as Knull. However, no credible scooper or media publication has come up with such a report confirming this claim.
On top of that, there has been no statement from Norman Reedus himself talking about this role in any interview or statement, with the creators of Venom 3 keeping their lips sewn shut as well. So, as of now, there is no confirmation of whether Norman Reedus will appear as Knull in Venom 3 or not.
However, this is not the first time Norman has been the center of such a rumor. Sometime back when he shared fan art of himself as Ghost Rider, people took over the internet stating that he would appear in some Marvel project as the Spirit of Vengeance. So, I would recommend you guys to not get your hopes really high and take all of these Twitter posts with a massive tablespoon of salt.
One Fan Theory Suggests Rhys Ifans Could Be Playing Knull
There’s another fan theory that seems pretty interesting. The theory states that Rhys Ifans’s appearance in the movie is not a nod to Amazing Spider-Man since the subtitles in the trailer state that his name is Martin. However, the theory suggests that the God of Symbiotes, Knull has taken up the human form of Martin to get close to Eddie/Venom and we would get to see a superhero showdown by the end of the movie.
Another theory states that Sony is going to spin the story of Knull a bit and portray him as a super Symbiote that will take over Rhys Ifans’s character as its host to become Knull. However, in all honesty, don’t take me wrong but I can’t see Rhys Ifans playing Knull. He just doesn’t give off the vibe I would expect from such a major Marvel villain.
Moreover, Knull isn’t supposed to be a one-and-done Marvel villain and it’s rumored that Knull will be the villain in Spider-Man 4, so the chances of Rhys Ifans portraying Knull are bleak.
With that being said, there is not much information regarding who will be playing the character and all we have as of now are these rumors and theories.
