OnePlus has never been one to go with traditional marketing campaigns for their devices, and usually gets the OnePlus fan community involved for big announcements.

The company has now come up with another novel trick to engage fans ahead of the launch of the OnePlus 6, by inviting them to help create an ad film for the phone.

OnePlus has asked fans and followers to give their inputs in the creation of a short film titled ‘The Never Settle Film’ to create some hype for the OnePlus 6, one that will be played at the launch event, whenever that happens.

OnePlus says it’s not going to cherry-pick from the suggestions, instead, the filmmaking process would be quite dynamic and the ad would constantly evolve with the infusion of new ideas.

To start, OnePlus has created a template advertisement video highlighting some of the OnePlus 6’s features like Dash Charge, superior gaming performance, and more, however, new suggestions will constantly be added for fans to work with.

Each time we add more of your suggestions, we’ll send out a new version, so you can see it taking shape, and watch the end credits build with the names of everyone who helped to fashion it! So free your imagination and let us realize your vision.

Fans have a say in all major and minor aspects of the film, be it the costume worn by the actors, the scenery in the portrait shots, etc. Basically, OnePlus is putting all the participants in the director’s chair, with the goal of selecting the most impactful inputs that will make it to the final cut.

If you are a OnePlus fan and want your name on the ads credits roll, you can join in on the fun and submit your inputs on the official OnePlus forum, or on the company’s Facebook page. Simply add your inputs in the sample film’s comments on Youtube or by using the #NeverSettleFilm hashtag. Go on, put your director’s hat on and show your filmmaking chops.
