Apart from the Spangram, you need to find 5 theme words in today’s puzzle. However, if you are having a tough time getting through the Strands, check out some tips and tricks in my guide on how to play NYT Strands.

List of Theme Words for NYT Strands on May 31
If you have scrolled this far, you are probably ready to see the answers. So, let’s take a look at today’s theme words in Strands:
- WIZARD
- SCARECROW
- TWISTER
- POPPIES
- RAINBOW
I accidentally came across WIZARD in the grids and that was it. I couldn’t find anything else till I had to use a hint to get TWISTER. I still couldn’t make sense of it and after frustrating myself by looking for the next theme words, I used another hint to get POPPIES. Yep, this game is already out of hand.
Well, anyway, that left me with easily finding RAINBOW at the bottom. Then, I found SCARECROW at the top after losing a good dozen brain cells. I still don’t know what this is about, by the way. Anyway, the Spangram turned out to be RUBYSLIPPERS. A quick internet search revealed that it’s The Wizard of Oz reference. Sigh.
Looks like my hot streak of not using hints is broken, YET AGAIN. What about you though? Was it too easy or did you have to use hints? Do cry your heart out in the comments down below.
