What is the Theme for Today’s NYT Strands?
As revealed by the New York Times, the theme for today’s Strands is “Rolling in the aisles”
If you have a broken sense of humor like me, you probably sang the theme out in the scales of Rolling in the deep. Well, me and Akshay certainly did. The theme was not that difficult to decode after a certain theme word popped up on the grids.

Every Strands game has that one Spangram that you need to decipher. Today’s Spangram was no exception and the hint is – “Grocery shopping checklist”.
Theme Words Hints for Today’s Strands
If you have figured out the Spangram from the above hint, figuring out the theme words will be easy. However, I don’t want to ruin it for you. Instead, here are hints to two out of six theme words that may help you:

Spangram Answer for NYT Strands on April 2
The Spangram for today’s NYT Strands is GROCERYSTORE. It runs from right to left on the letters grid.

List of Theme Words for NYT Strands on April 2
If you have scrolled this far, you are probably ready to see the answers. So, let’s take a look at today’s theme words in Strands:
- MEATS
- DAIRY
- PRODUCE
- FROZEN
- BAKERY
- SEAFOOD
After marking countless non-theme words on the grid, me and Akshay bumped against MEATS in the bottom left corner. From there, it was easy and we realized that this had to do with things at a store’s aisle.
At the top left, we found DAIRY. Finding PRODUCE, FROZEN and BAKERY took two seconds after that. With that, right in the middle of all these words, we unveiled GROCERYSTORE as the Spangram for the day. Finally, we found SEAFOOD running vertically under the Spangram and called it a day.
Well, another day of not using hints in Strands. Let’s see how long we can maintain this streak.
