In Short
  • The Lenovo Legion Go typically goes on sale for $699.99.
  • However, it's now going for just $549 on Amazon, which is $150 off.
  • Key specs include an 8.8-inch 144Hz WQXGA display, AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, and more.

I’m way too used to my keyboard and mouse setup, which keeps me from even going for a PlayStation, let alone a gaming handheld. However, when Lenovo sent over a Legion Go at the Beebom not too long ago, I was blown away by the massive screen and its quality. Neither of the ROG Allys or even the Steam Deck tempted me as much, but the regular $699.99 price tag makes it a pricey affair. Well, not anymore, as this early Black Friday deal gives the Lenovo Legion Go a massive price cut.

The Lenovo Legion Go is now available for just $549. In other words, you’ll be saving $150, which is enough for you to buy an additional carrying case bag, screen protector, and more such accessories. It’s safe to say that the devil on my shoulder wants me to get it now more than ever.

But, Is the Legion Go Black Friday Deal Worth It?

If you’re a doubting Thomas like me, this deal probably won’t be enough for you to go for a handheld right away. And, it shouldn’t, before you know what you’re signing up for. So, for the $549 you shell out, you get an 8.8-inch 2K display, the largest on a handheld so far.

Besides, it’s also 144Hz with a 97% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. So, it’s not just good for gaming, but multimedia consumption as well. Being as handheld as it is, if you’re as clumsy as me, you don’t have to worry about breaking it. It’s got that Gorilla Glass protection going for the display.

There are also multiple ways to tinker with it and find the best way to play a game. Just like with Nintendo Switch, the Legion TrueStrike Controllers come off of the base module. Or, you can simply use the USB-4 to connect it to a monitor and make a full-blown setup. Since it’s running on Windows 11, it will actually turn out to be quite the system to work and play on. This makes it all the more versatile.

Besides, the powerful AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme (which the Ally X uses as well) can handle AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077, RDR 2, Alan Wake 2, GTA V, Last of Us, God of War Ragnarök, and more such games in commendable settings.

There’s also 16GB 7500Mhz LPDDR5X and 512GB of SSD on this variant. The 49.2WHr battery let me play on it for around 2 hours. It’s not the best, but you can always choose to keep it connected. Moreover, when you’re traveling, it’s more than enough backup, unless you’re going all out to cross continents.

Overall, if I’d ever get a handheld, the Lenovo Legion Go will have to be it; well, who knows, I might just place the order, since this early Black Friday deal is as good as they come.
