How to Use The New Magic Eraser Tool On Snapchat

Snapchat just pushed out a major update that might probably change the way we’re using the insanely popular application. Several new features have been incorporated into the app like limitless snaps, looping videos and other promising tools that aim to keep the users engaged. One of the new features that caught our eye was the new Magic Eraser tool that lets you blur out a particular portion of the snap that you might not want the people to see. The technique works quite similar to Adobe Lightroom’s spot removal tool, but it’s much more simplified. So, if you’re interested, you probably want to know how to use the new magic eraser tool on Snapchat on Android or iPhone:

Using The New Magic Eraser Tool On Snapchat

First and foremost, you’ll have to update to the latest version of Snapchat from the App Store or Play Store. Then, simply follow the steps below to start using the eraser tool on your snaps:

  • Once you open the Snapchat application, you’re directly taken to the camera. Now, take a random snap and just tap on the scissor icon.

  • Once done, tap on on the Magic tool indicated by stars icon.

  • Now that you’re done with that, you can blur out any portion of the picture by simply swiping on the particular area. For instance, I’m trying to remove the Alienware logo on my laptop, so i’ll just swipe over the area where the logo is located.

  • Once done, wait for a few seconds for the magic to happen. Then, you’ll notice the blurred area on your snap. Snapchat replaces the blurred area with colors that match the area to make sure that the blur isn’t easily noticeable.

Well, that’s pretty much it. From now on, i don’t think I have to transfer pictures to my computer and use Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom to remove stuff from my pictures anymore. However, keep in mind that unlike Photoshop, it only blurs the particular area and it’s easily noticeable to anyone who looks at the snap.
