The first Anime Expeditions update introduced Villain Chests, giving players a new way to earn valuable upgrade materials and exclusive event rewards. Alongside Trait Crystals and other resources, these chests are the main source of Villain Event Coins and limited event drops needed to strengthen your roster. This guide explains the fastest ways to get Villain Chests in Anime Expeditions and covers every reward you can get from them.

How to Obtain Villain Chests in Anime Expeditions

The Villain Chests are only available from the Villain Hunt loot event in Anime Expeditions. To earn the chests, you must defeat specific villains from the non-competitive stages: Story, Infinite, Challenge, and Mastery. Keep in mind that it is not the Villain Invasion game mode.

You can play any Anime Expeditions maps from the non-competitive modes to find the villains. There are two ways you can earn the Villain Chests in Anime Expeditions:

Villain Hunt

Each non-competitive mode spawns dangerous villains at random intervals. Once a villain appears, the special alert pops up on the screen. The alert will say, “[Villain Name] (Boss) Appeared! A random villain has invaded the stage! Defeat them to obtain Villain Chests!“

After the alert is shown, you must slay that specific villain boss to get 5 Villain Chests in Anime Expeditions. The villain spawn timing is random, along with the summoned boss. This means you can encounter more than one villain boss at once. We suggest the Infinite mode for Villain Chest grinding.

Villain Hunt Progress

Apart from the Villain Chests dropped by defeated villain bosses, you can earn even more by reaching boss kill milestones. Each milestone rewards extra Villain Chests and Event Coins, making it the fastest way to stock up during the event.

You can defeat up to 15 villain bosses per day to claim all the daily milestone rewards, which are listed below:

How to Open Villain Chests in Anime Expeditions

Events Page

The first way you can open the chests is from the Villain Hunt events page itself. This is an ideal place if you are going to that page to claim your daily Villain Chests. To go there and unlock the chests, follow these steps:

• Click the Events button from the left menu.
• Select the Villain Hunt option.
• Click on the Villain Chest and click Open.

Items Bag

You can also open the chest without visiting the events page. To do so, you must access the bag where all your Anime Expeditions items are kept. Click the ‘Items’ button from the left menu and click the Villain Chest. Then click the open button to unlock the chest.
