  • To draw on Dreadlock's mini map, hold the Left Alt button and hold the Left mouse button around.

Valve’s Deadlock runs on the core fundamentals of a MOBA game. That also means that communication is always the key to winning matches. While the game already has voice and text comms options, sometimes things happen so fast that you only have a few seconds. Luckily you can ping and draw on Deadlock’s mini map to communicate. Let’s begin doing that now!

How to Ping on the Mini Map in Deadlock

In Deadlock, you must hold the Left Alt button and click the Left/ Right mouse button on the desired location on the mini map to initiate a ping. It will create a green circle area and notify teammates about it on their mini map. The ping also triggers an audio queue as well.

That’s not it. You can also click on certain icons to let your teammates know about your activity. For example, if you are pushing a certain walker to unlock Flex Slots, click that walker on the mini map to alert teammates. You can also do it for defensive pings, neutral camp, Spirit Urn, or even the Mid-boss.

A ping is a popular tool that usually was only available in MOBA games before Apex popularized it. But letting you ping through the mini map can help make communication much easier in Deadlock.

How to Draw on the Deadlock Mini Map

Valve also retains the draw-on mini map feature from Dota 2 for Deadlock. To draw on the mini map in Deadlock, hold the Left Alt button and your Left mouse button and draw away. Keep holding them till you complete the drawing. Just like the ping, the drawing will also fade away after a certain duration.

Drawing on Deadlock's Mini map

Draw is a strong tool to describe or plan strategies during the game. So, make sure you do not abuse it to mess up the mini map in Deadlock. Valve is also strict with the player’s integrity, so make sure you do not draw something unnecessary.
