Google today launched, World Wonders Project from Google Cultural Institute, which lets you visit more than 130 world heritage sites across the globe from 18 countries, including Stonehenge, the archaeological areas of Pompeii and the ancient Kyoto temples etc, online with the magic of Street View.
If you cannot go out and visit all these places in real, you now have the option to see all of them in your browser.
Google Cultural Institute’s mission is to preserve and promote culture online and World Wonders project is a very nice move in that direction.
Here’s an introductory video of World Wonders Project by Google which also pretty cool,
Visit, google.com/worldwonders and start exploring heritage sites across the globe.
PS. This project’s idea came from Melanie Blaschke, Google’s employee and it took more than 1 year to turn this idea in to reality.
