The Google I/O Conference is just around the corner and like it’s customary, Google has just announced the nominees for the Google Play Awards 2017. As the name suggests, the Play Awards recognizes the best apps and games on the Play Store. The winners of the awards will be announced at the I/O conference next month. Considering the I/O conference is aimed at developers, it’s only fitting to award the best Android developers.
This year’s Play Awards features 12 categories of awards, ranging from the best apps & games to the best standout indie apps. The winners will be chosen by different teams at Google that work hand-in-hand with the relevant categories. Also, the common requirement between the various nominees are high star rating, technical performance and freshness, while requiring a launch or major update since last year.
