In Short
  • There are 6 different categories of Skill trees in Black Myth Wukong.
  • You should only invest skills in the Spells and Staff Stances that you have equipped or like using in combat.
  • Transformation skills are not particularly useful, and you should prioritize them at the very end.

Like other ARPG games, Black Myth Wukong has a massive skill tree, divided into multiple categories. Every category focuses on different aspects like the Foundation skills being mainly for the base stats of the character and Spell and Staff skills improving the corresponding attacks. The best part about skills in Black Myth Wukong is that you can reallocate them anytime. So if you’ve just begun with it all then keep reading as we tell you about the best skills and abilities to get in Black Myth Wukong.

  • Robust Constitution: Increases Max Health.
  • Rampant Vigor: Increases Max Stamina.
  • Simian Agility: Reduces the Stamina cost of Dodging.
  • Composure: Dodging doesn’t interrupt Light Attack Combo
  • Soaring Strike: Temporarily deals more damage after sprinting
  • Spiritual Awakening: Increases Max Mana.

The Foundation Skills improve all the base abilities of your character, including max health, stamina, mana, and damage reduction. You should prioritize increasing your Max Health using Robust Constitution and then get Simian Agility. Next, focus on getting Composure, which won’t stop your attack combos between dodges, allowing you to finish Light Attack combos consistently.

Next, get Soaring Strike as it increases the damage dealt after sprinting. Finally, invest as many points as you want into Rampant Vigor and Spiritual Awakening to increase your max stamina and mana.

Best Staff Skills in Black Myth Wukong

  • Force Unbound (Smash Stance): Enables Sprinting while Charging.
  • Secondary Damage: Heavy attack that costs a focus point deals additional damage based on their remaining health.
  • Quick Hand: Increases charging speed of all stances.
  • Resolute Counter Flow (Smash Stance): Performing Heavy Attack during Light Attack combo, allows the Destined One to execute Resolute Strike, which allows the Destined One to see through the incoming enemy attacks and nullify their damage.
  • Deadly Dance (Thrust Stance): When with 4 Focus Points, automatically perform a Thrust Heavy attack immediately after a Roll (Dodge) or a Perfect Dodge.
  • Exhilaration: Increases Health recovery when consuming a Focus Point.

When it comes to Staff Skills, the skills you need to pick are based on the stances you prefer using in combat. For me, I love both the Smash and Thrust stances. If you also prefer Pillar Stance, then you must get the Deadly Dance skill point, which would make you land those Heavy Attacks at 4 Focus Points much more frequently.

Other than that, every Skill on that tree for the Deadly Dance node is useful for Thrust Stance users. For Smash Stance, I recommend getting Resolute Counter Flow, which is a great counter-attacking option. You can also get Force Unbound early, which allows charging Heavy attacks while Sprinting in Smash Stance.

Other than the Stance skills, the core skills you should invest in this category are Secondary Damage, which increases Heavy Attack damage with Focus Points, and Exhilaration.

Best Mysticism Skills in Black Myth Wukong

  • Boundless Blessings (Ring of Fire): After staying in the Ring of Fire for a short duration, its effect continues even after exiting. Increases the Mana cost of this spell.
  • Stagnation (Immobilize): Hitting an immobilized enemy with Light Attack slightly extends the duration of the next immobilization inflicted on them.
  • Spirit Shards (Immobilize): Recovers a moderate amount of Mana upon crashing the immobilization on the enemy.

When it comes to Mysticism Skills, you should only invest in the Spell that you have currently equipped. I am a huge Ring of Fire fan and would recommend completely maxing that Skill tree by getting Boundless Blessings. For Immobilize users, Stagnation and Spirit Shards are both great options to invest your Skill points in.

Best Alteration Skills in Black Myth Wukong

  • Iron Clad (Rock Solid): Grants damage reduction for a short duration after a Deflection.
  • Nick of Time (Rock Solid): Grants a considerable amount of Focus upon a successful Deflection.
  • Thunder Strike (Cloud Step): Unveiling Strike can be performed with a charged Heavy Attack.

Alteration Skills are the same as Mysticism Skills as you should only invest in the Spell that you have currently equipped. Rock Solid users should get both Iron Clad and Nick of Time skills, which are very useful for the spell.

Cloud Step users need to invest heavily in the tree to get any benefit. I will recommend getting Thunder Strike, which allows charging Heavy attacks while being invisible.

Best Strand Skills in Black Myth Wukong

  • Insult to Injury: Increases damage dealt by Duplicates when using another spell after A Pluck of Many.
  • Synergy: After using A Pluck of Many, hitting enemies extends the duration of Duplicates.

When it comes to Strand Skills, I will suggest getting the Insult to Injury Skill node, which increases the damage dealt by Duplicates after using another spell. This skill perfectly pairs with the Immobilize Spell, as you can use the Pluck of Many and then Immobilize the enemy to gang up on them and deal a massive amount of damage in a very quick time.

Other than that, Synergy is another great node that increases the duration of the Duplicates after hitting enemies.

Best Transformation Skills in Black Myth Wukong

  • Moon Roam: Damage increases after each Perfect Dodge.
  • Evergreen: Might Decay is Reduced
  • Ferocious Form: Attack increases while Transformed

Transformation Skills are not worth investing in my opinion, but if you want to invest in it then I will recommend investing in Moon Roam for the Evergreen and Ferocious Form. The other Skill nodes are not very impressive and you would be better off investing them in other categories.
