Anime Origins Tier List for Best Units Breakdown
Now that you know where your favorites rank in our Anime Origins tier list, here is a full breakdown to justify their rankings:
SS Tier
SS tier in our Anime Origins tier list is the units you should prioritize above everything else because they combine exceptional damage, strong abilities, or huge overall utility. Their kits give them enough value to remain useful across different situations rather than relying on one narrow strength.
- Madaro (Edo Tensei): Madaro is an incredible meta DPS with huge AoE damage, a 500% Damage Heaven Splitter attack, and extra attacks against enemies outside his Range. His Crowd Control resistance and additional Stun effects also make him extremely reliable against difficult enemies.
- Cursed Lover (Pure Love): Cursed Lover can copy and store up to four Active Abilities, giving him ridiculous flexibility alongside his own powerful attacks. His Love Beam deals 300% total Damage, making him one of the strongest meta DPS units for both damage and versatility.
- Valcrad (Unleashed): Valcrad gets Crit Chance, Range scaling, bonus Damage against bleeding enemies, summons, and stronger Restriction levels as he progresses. His Coffin Trap can also stun a boss for seven seconds, giving him excellent damage and control.
S+ Tier
These units in our tier list sit just below the absolute best picks and can still form the backbone of a strong team in Anime Origins. Their value comes from either excellent damage or support that can improve the performance of several other units.
- Bon (Purgatory): Bon is one of the best meta support units because his food can provide Damage, Cooldown, Range, and other useful buffs. He also increases the money earned from defeated enemies, giving him value in both combat and economy.
- Starku (Primordial): Starku has strong Damage for a Mythic and stands out because he has a powerful nuke that many other Mythics lack. His burst damage makes him a reliable meta DPS for dealing with tougher enemies.
- Igritto (Commander Starku): Igritto gets consistent combat buffs through Oppressing and can gain additional Damage and Cooldown bonuses through his ability. His steady output makes him a strong meta DPS instead of a unit that relies on one big attack.
- Goju (Honored One): Goju can nullify attacks against himself, slow enemies, and use Time Stop to control dangerous enemies. His strong crowd control makes him one of the best meta support units to have on a team.
- Tango (Star of Festivals): Tango is a strong Ground option and fits well into teams that need reliable Ground coverage. He sits below the very best Ground units because the available information does not show the same standout mechanics as the top picks.
S Tier
In our Anime Origins tier list, S-tier units are excellent and can perform extremely well when used in the right role. Some have slightly more specific strengths than the units above, but they remain strong choices for serious teams.
- Noroto (Linked): Noroto gains Damage, Cooldown, and Range during his Nine Tails’ Cloak transformation, while every third attack adds an AoE burst. The transformation gives him a major power spike and makes him particularly useful in longer battles.
- Tojei (Sorcerer Killer): Tojei has strong boss damage and Neutral typing, allowing him to deal reliable damage against different enemy types. His inability to receive buffs holds him back from the highest tiers and limits his potential as a meta DPS.
- Vegita (Super): Vegita is a strong Hill unit with good combat performance and useful multi placement potential. He becomes even stronger with Goku nearby, although relying on another unit for part of his passive keeps him below the top tier.
- Aneko (Queen): Aneko has full AoE and deals more Damage as enemies lose health, making her excellent against groups. Her AoE coverage makes her a strong contender for the best Hill unit in the right situation.
- Shinaru (Butterfly Dance): Shinaru is a strong meta support option that can provide useful team utility. She is slightly lower than the strongest supports because her overall impact does not appear as broad as Bon or Goju.
- Yoto (Calamity): Yoto provides solid overall combat value and can remain useful through longer stages. He does not have the same standout damage or utility as the SS and S+ units, which keeps him in S Tier.
A Tier
A Tier units in our Anime Origins tier list are dependable picks that can carry their weight in the right setup. They may lack the overwhelming combination of power and utility found in the higher tiers, but they are still worth investing in.
- Itsugo (Dangai): Itsugo has strong base Damage and gains more Damage as enemies move farther along the path. This makes him especially useful on longer maps where enemies spend more time progressing toward the end.
- Zeldo (Piety): Zeldo can increase his own Damage and works well alongside Meliodas. His straightforward kit is useful, but he does not offer enough extra utility to compete with the stronger meta DPS units.
- Konpatchi (Unleashed): Konpatchi has good Damage and becomes more useful against weakened enemies. His ability to deal extra damage and help finish enemies makes him a solid offensive pick.
- Gyutari (Upper Moon): Gyutari has full AoE, Poison, and Blood Cut attacks that can explode for additional damage around enemies. He is particularly useful when dealing with large groups, although his overall power falls short of the strongest meta DPS.
- Goki (Super 3): Goki is an excellent boss killer and can build Fighting Spirit stacks for additional Damage and Crit Chance. He can become very strong after building his stacks, making him a good choice for boss focused stages.
- Bluma (Data Analyst): Bluma is one of the best farming units because her Training Data can eventually provide a 30% Income boost. She is especially useful in infinite mode, where her economy scaling becomes more valuable over time.
B Tier
These units are useful and can perform well during progression, especially when you do not have stronger alternatives from our Anime Origins tier list. Their main weakness is that their value is more limited compared with the higher tier units.
- Melio (Assault): Melio can Petrify, Burn, Slow, buff Damage, and provide several other effects through his Commandments. The downside is that he cycles between them, so he cannot reliably provide the specific effect you need at any given moment.
- Oxi (Mage): Oxi provides useful support and can fill a support slot when you lack stronger options. He does not have the same level of impact as the game’s best meta support units, which keeps him lower.
- Mykie (Toman): Mykie can eventually provide a 10% Damage buff when placed as the leader, giving him some useful team support. The buff takes time to build and has strict placement conditions, making him less reliable than stronger supports.
- Itsoda: Itsoda is a useful Hill unit that can help cover enemies from elevated positions. He is a good option early on, but the stronger Hill units provide more overall value.
- Leorio: Leorio is useful for building an economy because he can refund part of an upgrade cost when upgrades are made within his Range. His lack of meaningful combat power makes him a farming specialist rather than a unit for your main meta DPS lineup.
C Tier
C Tier units are usable when your roster is still developing, but there are clear reasons to replace them once stronger options become available. They can still fill a role when your team lacks alternatives from the best Anime Origins units tier list.
- Sosuke (Eternal): Sosuke can serve as a Ground unit while you are still working toward stronger options. His overall performance is weaker than the better Ground units in Anime Origins, so he is unlikely to remain on your team once you obtain stronger picks.
D Tier
Any unit of lower rarity than the ones in our tier list is D tier. If you don’t pull anything from the C tier, save gems and keep trying.
That ends our ultimate Anime Origins tier list for the best units. Which ones are you pairing with the Anime Origins traits? Let us know in the comments.
Itsoda is the best Legendary unit in this tier list because of his strong Hill placement and ability to provide reliable coverage against airborne enemies.
Bluma (Data Analyst) is one of the best choices for Infinite Mode because her Income scaling becomes more valuable as the waves continue.
Goki (Super 3) is an excellent boss killer thanks to his strong Damage bonuses and Fighting Spirit mechanic, which lets him build additional Damage and Crit Chance over time.
