Although Chakra is the core power system in the Naruto manga and anime series, some characters possess additional powerful abilities in the story. One such impressive ability is possessed by Sharingan users. If you haven’t guessed already, it’s the rare and fascinating Susanoo technique that makes the Uchiha clan members in Naruto so powerful. This ultimate ability can be activated by those with Sharingan in both eyes and comes in various types and colors depending on the user. When we first saw the allure of Susanoo in the anime, it quickly became a fan favorite. That said, in this article, we have ranked every Susanoo user in Naruto on the basis of their strength. So, let’s check out the strongest Susanoo users in the anime series.

Note: As fans might know, there are various variations of Susanoo for each Sharingan user. However, we have only added the final powerful versions of every Susanoo while ranking the users on our list. We have also included the various kinds of Susanoo that the respective users have had over time.

1. Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki

• Debut: Shippuden Episode 468 (Anime-only)
• Variations: Complete Body Susanoo
• Primary Color: Light Blue

Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, popularly known as the “Sage of Six Paths,” is the strongest Susanoo user we have seen to date. Rightfully known as the forefather of Shinobi, he had a gigantic Susanoo figure in its complete body form.

Hagoromo’s Susanoo had a light-blue color and the facial features resembled his appearance. It was literally enormous in size (equivalent to that of a Ten-Tails) and is known to be the largest Susanoo to date. With this mighty power, he was able to fight Kaguya’s Ten-Tails form on equal footing and was able to dodge the Ten-Tails’ Tailed Beast Ball.

Once again, Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki is considered to be the most powerful Susanoo user by Naruto fans, even though it was shown only in the anime.

2. Sasuke Uchiha

• Variations: Skeletal Body, Humanoid, Armored, Complete Body Susanoo and Indra Susanoo
• Primary Color: Purple (Anime), Dark Blue (Manga)

Sasuke Uchiha, the current Shadow Hokage of the Konoha, is the only person to have five different forms of Susanoo. His Susanoo had a Skeletal Body, Humanoid, Armored, Complete Body, and Indra Susanoo. All these variants came with distinct weapons, including swords, bow & arrows, etc. These weapons can then be imbued with black flames (Amaterasu) and lightning, making them more powerful. Sasuke further enhanced the powers of his Susanoo with the help of his Rinnegan.

Sasuke’s Perfect Susanoo also had wings that enabled him to fly. In Indra form, Sasuke could create deadly attacks with his bow and arrow to obliterate enemies. In the complete body form, Sasuke was able to generate his signature moves — Great Fireball Technique and Chidori — using the weapons as a medium.

Sasuke is godly with his mighty Susanoo forms and has all the qualities to surpass Hagoromo as the strongest Susanoo user of all time in the Naruto-verse.

3. Madara Uchiha

• Variations: Skeletal Body, Humanoid, Armored, and Complete Body Susanoo
• Primary Color: Dark Blue

Madara Uchiha, the Ghost of the Uchiha clan, had a flawless Susanoo to his name. It’s distinctive from all the other Susanoos we have seen in the anime series. It had two different sides, which share the same central spine. It looks more like a conjoined twin with different faces. As a result, it had four arms and all four were equipped with swords capable of destroying anymore in his way. The swords can be used to release shock waves that can destroy any number of opponents with just a single blow.

These swords are so powerful that they can slice up large mountains into pieces. Madara always stayed OP as the most powerful Uchiha to ever exist and achieved various feats with this Susanoo. He was capable of creating clones of himself that can use Susanoo as well as he can incorporate his Susanoo with the Nine-Tailed Beast (Kurama).

The iconic scene of Madara vs the five Kages will always be remembered by the fans and will keep on reminding us that Madara was truly a monster with his Susanoo powers.

4. Kakashi Hatake/ Obito Uchiha

• Variations: Complete Body Susanoo
• Primary Color: Light Blue

Out of all the Susanoos on this list, the most surprising and unexpected Susanoo form in the anime has to be Kakashi’s. The climax of the Naruto Shippuden series (see Naruto Shippuden filler list) was shaping up to be an amazing ride and Kakashi’s Susanoo was like a cherry on top of the cake.

Technically, this Susanoo can be called both Kakashi and Obito’s since the latter lent his Sharingan powers to Kakashi to awaken the said Susanoo. Kakashi’s Susanoo was a Complete Body form and had a unique ability up its sleeves. Its appearance was more similar to that of Kakashi and even had a scar similar to Kakashi’s iconic scar.

The Mangeky-shaped shuriken, which can perform the powerful Kamui move, is his Susanoo’s ultimate special weapon. On contact (with whatever things), the shuriken has the ability to warp away its targets. This special move alone is considered to be a powerful move by the fandom. It is also the reason why fans vote for Kakashi’s Susanoo as one of the strongest Susanoo to ever exist.

5. Itachi Uchiha

• Debut: Shippuden Episode 138, Manga Chapters 391-393
• Variations: Skeletal Body, Humanoid, Armored, and Complete Body Susanoo (Game-Only)
• Primary Colors: Red and Orange (Anime), Yellow (Manga)

While Itachi is the reason for the Uchiha Clan’s perishment, he was also the Shadow Hokage who had to do it in order to protect his village. Itachi is one of the most powerful Uchiha to ever live, and he deservedly had one of the strongest Susanoos on his side.

It’s unfortunate for us fans that we didn’t get a Complete Body Susanoo (due to his early death) from a great legend like Itachi. But we have seen the Skeletal Body, Humanoid, and Armored versions of his Susanoo in the show. Even without a perfect Susanoo, Itachi’s Susanoo was considered to be invincible and untouchable. Each version was sufficiently powerful, but Itachi’s Susanoo in Naruto was nothing short of amazing in the final armored version.

It also possessed the Sword of Totsuka (in its right hand), an exquisite sword that can not only cut opponents but also can trap those who got slashed in a “genjutsu-like world of inebriated fantasies forever.” In the left hand, it had an impenetrable shield named Yata Mirror. This shield could change its nature depending on the attack it encountered and render it into a void. You can now understand why Itachi was considered invincible. Just imagine how much powerful Itachi would have been with his Perfect Susanoo.

6. Indra Otsutsuki

• Debut: Shippuden Episode 168 (Anime-only)
• Variations: Skeletal Body, Complete Body Susanoo
• Primary Color: Purple

Indra Ōtsutsuki is the son of the all-father Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki. And just like his dad, he also had one of the strongest Susanoo powers at his disposal. Indra was more like how Sasuke is now, and they both share some uncanny similarities. Indra started out with a Skeletal body Susanoo and made it all the way to a Complete Body Susanoo (without even having an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan). Both of these forms were strikingly similar to Sasuke’s Susanoo variations.

Indra’s Susanoo was powerful enough to aid him in combat against his brother Asura and further push his brother to some extent with its powers. Out of all the Susanoos on this list, Indra’s Susanoo alone has a name and it is Origin: Susanoo (Kongen: Susanoo).

We don’t know about the exact powers of Indra’s Susanoo. But it is a Complete Body Susanoo, which tells a lot about the powerful qualities it might possess. We have ranked him lower on this list as we don’t know his Susanoo’s true and complete powers.

7. Shisui Uchiha

• Debut: Naruto Storm Revolution (Game-only)
• Variations: Humanoid, Complete Body Susanoo
• Primary Color: Dark Green

We were not able to see the renowned Shisui Uchiha’s Susanoo in the anime. Yet, the author Kishimoto designed a special Susanoo for him in one of the Naruto games. For this very reason, many fans consider this power as a canon and part of the story. Surely, a powerful guy like Shisui would have mastered the Susanoo. But unfortunately due to his premature death, we never got to see its power and abilities.
