And though we have met many individuals with strong powers, it is these families that have unmatched inheritance and play a crucial role. 10. The Chinjao Family
We start our list with the Chinjao family who were introduced in the Dressrosa arc. This is a family of martial artists known for their groundbreaking Hasshoken ability. We were introduced to only four members of this family, including Don Chinjao, his grandsons Sai and Boo, and more recently, Sai’s wife — Baby 5.
Don Chinjao was a formidable pirate with a 500 million bounty back then, but he was obliterated by Monkey D. Garp later in the story. After that, his grandsons Sai and Boo took the mantle and joined the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Lastly, Baby 5, the Buki Buki no Mi fruit user, was a great addition to the already strong pirate family in One Piece.
Despite Don Chinjao being past his crime, his grandson, specifically Sai, is currently making noise since he attacked a world noble to save Shirahoshi.
9. The Donquixote Family
No, we aren’t talking about the Donquixote world noble family. Instead, the one Doflamingo forged after killing his father. The Donquixote Pirates were more than just pirates as they were considered a family by their leader.
This family included a lot of excellent devil fruit users with whom Doflamingo conquered Dressrosa Island and became their tyrannical king. Together, the Donquixote family were the kingpins of the underworld involved in the creation and trading of artificial devil fruits SMILE, which we saw in the Wano Country arc.
After the Straw Hats along with Heart Pirates defeated them, the family broke up with most of the members getting imprisoned. Nevertheless, Doflamingo and his family armies have already proven their strength to be considered one of the strongest families in One Piece.
8. The Vinsmoke Family
For a while, we thought Chef Jeff was Sanji’s only family. Never in their dreams did the fans believe Sanji hailed from a royal and wicked family. Oda introduced the Vinsmoke family, the rulers of the Germa Kingdom, during the events of the Whole Cake Island arc. They immediately became one of the most hated families for what they did to Sanji, except for Sora and Reiju.
The Germa Kingdom was entirely built on science. All of Sanji’s father, Judge Vinsmoke’s kids received genetic modifications and raid suits to turn them into a group of powerful fighters.
Moreover, the family has a vast army made up of clones at their disposal. In terms of numbers, the Vinsmoke family’s military exceeds any other we have known so far. So, don’t forget this Power Ranger look-alike family who will play an important role in the final saga.
7. Kozuki Family
The Kozuki Family, the rulers of the Wano Country, were recognized as one of the strongest families in One Piece after their debut in the Wano arc. Kozuki Oden was considered to be one of the greatest characters in One Piece and his retainers were an extraordinary set of samurai. Although their leader was killed by Kaido and his crew, the family later made a great comeback.
The fandom is well aware of the Nine Red Scabbards’ strength. They were fearless warriors who overthrew the tyrannical rule and played an important role in getting their country back. We lost some of them during the raid on Onigashima but Momonosuke has grown and will lead them back to their glory days. Therefore, we should not overlook the Kozuki family’s power since they will be assisting the Straw Hats in the final war.
6. Shimotsuki Family
I will never get why Oda sensei revealed Zoro’s family in an SBS instead of introducing them slowly in the Wano Country arc, one of the best arcs in One Piece. Nevertheless, the creator shed light on Zoro’s family tree and unveiled his samurai family’s tremendous strength. Yes, Zoro’s ancestors are some of the best swordsmen in One Piece.
We don’t anything about Zoro’s parents, but his ancestors Shimotsuki Ryuma and Ushimaru were in a league of their own in terms of swordplay. Now, Roronoa Zoro is shaping up to be an exceptional swordsman and will eventually become the World’s greatest swordsman, making the Shimotsuki family proud.
5. The Charlotte Family
After Charlotte Linlin aka Big Mom left the Rock Pirates, she started her own crew with her family. She had a total of 85 children, 46 sons and 39 daughters, making them the biggest family we’ve have ever seen in One Piece. The sheer amount of members alone could easily overwhelm anyone trying to bring them down.
Big Mom was undoubtedly the greatest female pirate and put together a mighty crew chock full of powerful individuals. Perospero, Katakuri, Smoothie, and Cracker were notable members of the Big Mom family. Since her defeat, their crew has been shaken up and their status remains undisclosed at the moment. However, we hope to see at least Katakuri join forces with the Straw Hat Pirates in the upcoming arcs.
4. The Gol D. Family
I’m sure I am not be the only one who thought Monkey D. Luffy was the son of Roger at the start of the One Piece saga. However, Oda defied the typical shonen tropes and revealed the fiery hero, Ace, as the son of the pirate king. Ace resented his father and we didn’t learn much about his mother, Portgas D. Rouge.
However, the might and accolades of Gol D. Roger took the One Piece world by storm. As the son of the pirate king, Ace showed signs of becoming one of the strongest characters but tragically lost his life at the hands of Akainu during the events of the Marineford arc.
Despite the Gol D. family having only a few members, they were one of the most powerful bloodline in One Piece and changed the course of history.
3. The Whitebeard Family
While every pirate who set out to the seas wanted to find the One Piece treasure, that wasn’t the end goal for Edward Newgate, popularly known as Whitebeard. The old man could have easily found the legendary treasure and become the second pirate king, but all he ever wanted was a family.
In the end, he made his pirate crew his family, and they were regarded as one of the greatest pirate crews to set sail in this world. They were around 1,617 crew members in total, and each division was managed by strong commanders such as Ace, Marco, Jozu, and others.
They were a Yonko crew and showed the world their might during the Marineford War. However, after Whitebeard’s death, the crew suffered great losses and isn’t active anymore. At the end, Oyaji’s family made an unforgettable impact in our hearts.
2. Monkey D. Family
Our rubbery protagonist’s family remained a completely mystery until the events of the Post Ennies Lobby arc. Everyone was shaken upon learning that the greatest marine, Monkey D. Garp, and the most wanted criminal, Monkey D. Dragon, were Luffy’s family. Luffy has grown great in strength to fight against an admiral and even one of the Five Elders with his Gear 5 powers.
It took a while to witness Garp’s powers in the story, but it was totally worth the wait. Even past his prime, Garp single-handedly made the Blackbeard Pirates tremble and rescued Koby on Hachinosu Island. But we have to wait even more to witness Dragon’s powers, that is why they are currently the second-strongest family in One Piece. We will see if they can be the strongest with Dragon’s power reveal soon.
1. Figarland Family
The Figarland family made their debut in the source material soon after being mentioned in the movie, One Piece Film Red. They are the newest family to be introduced in the story, yet they have instantly become the strongest family in One Piece. The newest Elder, God’s Knight leader, and the strongest Yonko, Red Hair Shanks, are confirmed to be related udner the Figarland family.
We are lucky that these three are not together, as they are unstoppable on their own, being in their prime right now. We can’t wait to find out what fate has in store for them as these family members are teased to have a fight against one another in the future.
