2024 is yet another big year for Shonen anime, as a new anime Kaiju No. 8 is making its debut later this year. We believe this anime can be a fresh breath of air in the Shonen genre, as evidenced by the manga’s widespread success. A handful of promotional videos and trailers have been out for a while, but today, we have received a final trailer along with some major details about the upcoming anime. Kaiju No.8 Release Date Announced

The final trailer for Kaiju No. 8 by Production I.G. was revealed earlier today, and the anime looks fantastic. Although we couldn’t tell this earlier, it looks like the animators have done justice to the amazing artwork with the monster fights and everything.

Along with the trailer, the release date for the anime was announced. Kaiju No. 8 is scheduled to premiere on April 13, 2024, at 23:00 JST (or 07:00 AM PT).

Moreover, in a rather unexpected move, the anime has achieved a unique feat as the series will be streaming weekly with English subtitles on the X (previously Twitter) platform. We don’t know for sure if we will be able to join the broadcast for free at this moment.

Alongside X, this anime will be released on Crunchyroll on April 13. However, it will arrive a little late at 23:30 JST (7:30 AM PT) right after the broadcast on X.

Kaiju No. 8 Opening and Ending Songs Revealed

Together with the trailer and release date announcement, the production team has also announced the performers of Kaiju No. 8’s opening and ending songs. Popular English and American singers have been inducted to add a Western touch to the anime. The details are as follows:

  • Opening song: “Abyss” by YUNGBLUD (co-written by Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons
  • Ending song: “Nobody” by One Republic

The spring of 2024 is stacked with glorious shonen anime such as Demon Slayer season 4, My Hero Academia season 7, and more. I believe this anime will make a huge difference to the lineup as well.
