What Is the Identity of Colon’s Father?
Ripley, the newly introduced giant and biology teacher in Elbaf, is one of the warriors from the past generation of the Giant Warriors. Ripley fell in love with a renowned human pirate and gave birth to Colon, a half-giant and half-human hybrid. What’s so special about her partner is that he is dubbed to be a mighty figure who would go head-to-head against a giant. He wasn’t afraid of the giants’ enormous powers and we have some clues about who he is:
- Colon’s father is confirmed to be a human
- He used to be a legendary pirate which meant he had retired already
- This mysterious character is also said to be younger than Ripley
Since Ripley belonged to the previous generation of Elbaf warriors, she is confirmed to be 80 years old in the story. Only the pirates from the Roger era match these criteria. Scopper Gaban Is the Father of Colon in One Piece
Remember when One Piece fans were debating about the mysterious man waiting for the Straw Hats at Elbaf? These two mysteries were seemingly tied together and Gaban was the frontrunner here.
For decades, fans had been anticipating the return of Gol D Roger’s left-hand man. Oda has finally reintroduced the left-hand man of the former pirate king, Scopper Gaban, who we haven’t seen in action in the story for a while now.
The comeback of the third-most important crew member of the Roger Pirates is complete. After Gaban’s arrival, Road confirms he is the partner of Ripley and Luffy immediately asks if Gaban is Colon’s father. Then, Gaban confirms he is the father of Colon, the giant shrimp in Luffy’s eyes.
Scopper Gaban will likely come to the rescue as there is a big threat (the Holy Knights) who have invaded the Giant’s castle. Luffy might need a hand against these new formidable foes, especially with Shamrock looking like Shanks. Just like how Rayleigh helped them against admiral Kizaru back in the Saboady Archipelago arc, Gaban might prove to be the support they need.
