Indian telecom services provider Airtel has announced a new broadband plan for its users in the metro cities that offers a breathtaking speed of 300Mbps. The new FTTH (Fiber-To-the-Home) plan is available for a monthly rental of ₹2,199 and users can enjoy 1,200GB of high-speed data per each billing cycle.
Apart from the massive amount of data and astounding speed, users also get additional benefits such as unlimited local and STD calling through the included landline connection. Airtel also provides free access to the over-the-top music and video services – Wynk Music and Airtel TV – as well as offers a complimentary one-year subscription to Amazon Prime.
For users who are not able to consume the complete 1,200GB data within a month’s duration, Airtel offers the benefit of data rollover in which the unused data is carried over to the next month. Moreover, users who pay for the new connection or plan upgrade online will receive additional data benefit of 1TB per month until October 31.
The 300Mbps plan is, however, available only at select locations across major Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. In order to check for availability in your area, you can head over to Airtel’s broadband information page and submit a request. In other regions, the same benefits might be available for the same tariff but at a speed of 100Mbps.
Existing Airtel broadband users who opt for the new plan will have to upgrade to Airtel’s V-Fiber Wi-Fi router to support the higher speed. This upgrade can be done without any extra cost, and users will not have to pay any additional charge in form of monthly rental for the router.
In an official announcement, Airtel also said that it plans to expand its fiber broadband services from the current tally of 89 cities to many more and this means that the high-speed fixed line plan might soon be extended to other cities apart from the ones mentioned.
