Asus made its comeback to Indian shores with the launch of its budget ZenFone Max Pro and the flagship ZenFone 5Z, which have performed quite well over the past months. So, the Taiwanese giant has now decided to extend its competitive strategy to the entry-level segment and launch a Redmi 6A rival, dubbed the ZenFone Lite.
Price and Availability
The entry-level ZenFone Lite (L1) has been priced starting at Rs 5,999, packing 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. This means it will be taking on the Redmi 6A, which packs a new MediaTek processor this time around and doesn’t perform up to the mark.
The ZenFone Lite will be available in two color variants, namely Black and Gold. It will go on sale during Flipkart’s Festive Dhamaka Days next month.
ZenFone Lite (L1): Key Specs
Turning our attention to the specs, ZenFone Lite packs a big 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 1440x720p display resolution. The device has a polycarbonate build with a metallic finish and it’s definitely a good looking device.
The ZenFone Lite is powered by the Snapdragon 430 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which sounds really low, but is actually a pretty standard set up for a sub-Rs. 7000 smartphone (the Redmi 6A also comes with 2GB of RAM). It runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based ZenUI 5.0, which is fairly smooth and intuitive, but giving Android Pie out-of-the-box would have been great.
On the optics front, the Asus ZenFone Lite sports a 13MP (f/2.0) rear sensor and a 5MP (f/2.2) selfie camera that should suffice for your photography needs; plus, the phone supports Face Unlock via the front camera. There’s no fingerprint sensor on this device, well, you know because of obvious budget constraints.
To sum it all up, here’s a quick rundown of the Asus ZenFone Lite (L1) specs sheet:
