One handy feature to check how much juice is left on your phone is by looking at the battery percentage on the status bar. This feature is available in custom ROM and other custom UI by smart phone makers like Samsung and HTC. You can even download apps to display widget, icon or notification about battery percentage but people might wonder why Google never took initiative to give this little feature on stock android.

Android 4.4 Kitkat brought many aesthetic changes within android making it clean and simple, including this hidden battery percentage which they might eventually include in their upcoming android updates.

The battery percentage is hidden within battery bar in status bar and has the same font color as that of battery indicator. That’s why you won’t see the battery percentage unless it has 50% or less juice left.

There are 2 ways to enable hidden battery percentage indicator

1. Installing App from XDA developers
